Getting our iPhones
We had gone into the store previously to get the phones, but they did not have any in stock. The guy said he would email us when they came in. Eventually he did, and he helped us get the phones, because we were international the credit check was going to be hard to pass, so he sort of coached us on the lies that we should tell him. Right before we were about to leave with the phones, he says "you guys make the best show". We had no idea what he was talking about, but then he said "Trailer Park Boys, me and me mates love it" or something to that effect. I found that quite entertaining.

House Viewing
So we got some exciting news today, we were sent a property listing for tomorrow. It's a 2 bedroom place right in the cbd( central business district) where we want to be living. We are getting pretty eager to move in somewhere we can call ours, but we will keep you posted.

weather...
This is just a quick little note, Jesse and I think that we have brought the rainy weater to Australia, seeing as when we arrived they had their first thunderstorm with lightning in 2 years, and it's been raining ever since. What we were told was that Australia is a rather dry country and they are on water restrictions, but the weather so far has been very contradicting.

Exploring Geelong
Well, we've been here for a few days, we've been down to the university and walked around most of the downtown area. We went to the pier at the waterfront and ate at what can only be described as a fake Irish pub. We're getting a bit sick of staying in this hostel and want to find an apartment so that we can start to get settled.

house hunting
So we went to meet a DUSA (Deakin University Student Association) rep today to figure something out for housing and things are starting to all fall into place. She is basically going to be looking for a place for us that suits our needs and then is going to take us around to them. So no place yet, but I think we are going to be going around next week. Also some exciting news...we have been told that when we get a cell or mobile we can receive international calls for free, which is awesome! We are back at the hostel today just relaxing and trying to get things all organized. We are going to head out soon to get some sandles for Jesse sinse the ones he was wearing looked like a dog tried to eat them. We are still trying to get used to the money here, $10 are blue and $5 red or pink so it's a little confusing looking into your wallet and thinking you are pulling out a $5 when it's $10. Also the $2 coins are about the size of a penny which makes you overlook them altogether.
That's all the news I can think of for right now, so until next time.

First night in Geelong
Our first night is at a nice hostel in the middle of Geelong, no direct internet access, but there is a shared computer that we can use from time to time. We start apartment hunting tomorrow, we've decided to live in the city closer to all of the amenities rather than to be closer to Amy's campus that is a bit out in the country.
Long flight, it's thursday night here in Australia and I haven't slept (in a bed) since monday night. Yes, there is a 15 hour time change, but still I'm a bit tired. Off to bed shortly then I think

we are off to see the wizard...the wonderful wizard of OZ
WOW
on the flight from Chicago to LA
flight from Toronto to Chicago
Traveling is exhausting...but exciting as ever. We are currently in LA so 6:57pm here and 9:57pm your time. Our bags were all under weight contrary to what Jesse thought about mine, even if I did have to bring 2, or 3 depending on how you look at it. The flight from Toronto to Chicago went by very very fast, being that it was only an hour and a half. We saw some very cool overhead shots of the US and a lot of water, the farmland looks like a very large quilt. OHARE was huge and filled with enough people to populate Prescott. However we did find a nice little place to eat called Chili's where we met a nice couple going to Paris. Power stations were few and far between but we are still running on lots of power and charging. I feel a little like I am from a small town and have been living a semi sheltered life because I had no idea how to use the automatic seat covers however I did figure it out so don't worry Mom. The flight to LA was longish and very cramped, and it was only 3 and a half hours, I don't even want to think about how long the flight to Melbourne is going to be. Again we saw some very cool landscapes across the US lots of mountains. And that brings you up to speed with what we have been up to so far, we are waiting for the flight to Melbourne which leaves at 10 tonight LA time and so 1 your time.
Here are a couple of pictures incase anyone is feeling like you might forget what we look like :)
